AardHawk is incorrect. The VIN decoder only knows about options installed at the factory during manufacture. The alarm was a dealer installed option and not available as a factory option. The VIN decoder knows nothing about whether an alarm is installed. It also wouldn't list other dealer installed items such as aerokit or iPod adapter.

I am not incorrect. I was just summarizing the position. In countries other than the US, option code 302 will appear on the build sheet, when the factory fitted alarm is present. For the US and all other countries, the standard factory fitted alarm wiring is present. In the US, its just left to the dealer to finish off the installation, hence no 302 code. Presumably what happened here is the dealer fitted an alarm but fitted the wrong stalk.
