R50/53 Got t-boned hard yesterday... fix or sell?
The damn lawyer says I can't claim my aftermarket stuff even if I have receipts. >:0. Everything I have is still on the car except for my hood scoop, intake and euro parcel... Any suggestions on what to do? I think I'm going to have to see how much I can buy the car back for. How much can you get back from parting out the entire car?

Aftermarket stuff is a gray area as it varies from ins co to ins co and even state to state.
The question is, are you dealing with your to her insurance company? If you are in a no fault state such as Michigan, you can only deal with your own insurance company and then the handling of aftermarket parts /equipment / enhancements is clearly defined in the policy. Chances are, the policy has limits ($0 is a limit) on non disclosed / insured aftermarket equipment.
Since the video has surfaced, I am assuming her company is taking 100% responsibility for this accident and if you are able to deal with her insurance company, you should. Given the circumstances of the accident and the ensuing dealings with the police report, they should be eager to include aftermarket equipment in the value of the car.
You stated you were talking to the insurance company lawyers?? Whose insurance company? Surprised legal dept would already be involved if there were no injuries and no lawsuit is in the works. At this stage it should still be at claim rep / adjuster level, at least for settlement of the vehicle value.

Totally glad to hear your injuries weren't worse. Sadly the Mini does look totaled like stated before. My Mini feels like an extension of me at this point, I couldn't imagine the heartbreak. Also, great news on getting the accident on tape. That is very poor judgement by the police officer though.
