What to Expect Back

Hello everyone, as the proud, almost, owner of one of the last 04s, I have a few questions that hopefully someone can answer:

1. I am having a few items installed at the dealer: aero kit, clear rear lights, chrome mirror caps, possibly springs, sway bar and green stuff brake pads. If these items are installed at the dealer, what typically happens to the stuff taken off the car. This is particularly important as the car is brand new and the parts might be worth someting. The dealership said they are typically thrown away because the dealership cannot sell used parts.

2. I have done a search and no real recent suggestions...Can someone recommend a good wheel lug nut lock....name, price, review....

3. I am having the dealership install the jcw 18s, h-sport springs and rear sway bar...is an alignment necessary? spacers?

Thank you all in advance....

Windrider, father of Windy, cruising on the Turandot, departing Southhampton on June 29th.....YES!!!!!

Return deposit

All the parts are yours if you ask for them. Unless a part is sold as "exchange" where they need a core to make new ones, all parts taken off the car are your property and should be returned. Some states actually require that old parts be offered to the customer to prove that the part has actually been removed. Give them a nice shopping bag with handles and say "put them in here."

Parts are yours (Unless there is a core exchange amount) and the dealer will give them to you upon request.

Whem my dealer replaced the factory body colored front grille and white mirror caps off my '04 MCS, they gave me the parts neatly packed and in pristine condition (I had them install the chrome grille and mirror caps from MINI accessories).

Later I sold the original parts and made some nice cash off of them as I had no plans to reuse them.

So go ahead and have all the "reusable" parts given back to you and put them up for sale to turn up some decent cash.

I've installed everything myself so I've got it all. The only thing I did not install was the JCW kit and they kept both the supercharger and the head. Could have had them for $1000.00....so I passed. did get my original exhaust back and it it now my road racing "straight pipe" exhaust.......
