SUVs and full size pickups do give that illusion you are slower than you are actually going. I've noticed I'm slower in my MINI than I am on the odd occasion I've driven something larger/taller since. I also know I feel like I'm being tailgated by larger vehicles at greater distances due to their appearance in the mirror. I want them much further back than other vehicles. But no matter what, if your headlights and grill are all I see, you are too dang close!

I had a very pretty blonde woman looking at me and my car today. The man she was with, who I presume to be a SOSO (Spouse Or Significant Other), was not happy. She looked like she was ready to trade up. He was in a beat up mid '80s Toyota pick-up. Sadly, they were going the other way.

Most of the time, thought, I get boys in the 7-13 age range liking the car the most.

I THINK MINI VANS ARE SOMETIMES JUST AS BAD AS SUV'S. :evil:

 

I throughly enjoy the gawkers, the questions, the thumbs up from complete strangers. What I have found, unfortunately is that my MC is NOT a "Chick Magnet"

 

I'm fairly certain my MINI is getting checked out...not me! I also don't have too much trouble with SUV tailgating, believe it or not. What does happen a lot is that SUVs pull up next to my MINI at a light, but a little behind so they can see the dash/interior through the side window....especially at night. This happens all the time!

Ha ha ha ha....if that is true...then I will be a happy one cause I have more estrogen....and I will get my babe this Friday...but my hub might bother my happy time though!

 

Speaking of gawkers...I met an 86-year-old lady the other day who was really into cars and wanted a ride in a MINI. It was her birthday that day so we went for a quick spin. (...I mighta scared her a bit taking off too quickly! ) Anyway now I hear she's been to the MINI dealer, gotten a load of MINI info, and wants to talk MINIs!!! Wouldn't that be great if she bought one! Amazing!!!
