R111 Black Star Bullet Rims on 2006 R50

I am going to need new tires soon on my 2006 R50 and I am also looking to upgrade the wheels (from 15" to 16" or 17") at the same time. I came across, R111 Black Star Bullet Rim for a good price and I am wondering if they can be mounted on my Mini???

Also, if yes I see the OEM size tire is 205/45/R17, what is a good tire for NE Florida weather to mount with it?

Yes, they will fit, unless you have some aftermarket big brake kit. Very nice looking wheel and looks good on the Gen 1 MINIs.

Here are some R111 shots on some Gen 2 MINIs.

I am sure some guys will chime in on installer in FL. Good luck.

Thank you!
Everything on my Mini is currently stock... suspension, tires, wheel, etc... Is anything "special" required to install (i.e. sensors)???

You should be good , TPMS for your MINI reads off the ABS sensor , so no wheel mounted TPMS sensor.

Thanks.

Any thoughts or input on how ride will be affected? I know the combination of tires and rims will weigh more going from 15x5.5 to 17x7 thus decreasing the cars "playfulness" (acceleration) but I am curious of how much. I believe these rims are on the lighter side of 17" alloys OEM's so maybe it wont be that noticeable???

MPG???

Wheel feel will be tighter, response wise. When I went from 15" R93 rockets to 17" R91s bullets as they are called. They are heavier then 15" MINI wheels. So for mpg varies, seen a very slight drop, not much. But this was on a R52 Cooper Convertible ( Non S ).

Thanks
