Clutch kit question, Help!

Im trying to install a ACT clutch kit using the flywheel that i already have wich is a Valeo but the mechanic says its to small for the clutch plate. I dont want to install a lightweight one because i dont want to loose torque. Any sugestions??

Did you check with ACT to verify that the clutch kit you have will work with the stock flywheel? When I was wrenching on another type of car, I did come across certain clutch kits that only work with aftermarket flywheels.

If they say it should work, verify that you have what you are supposed to have (meaning the clutch you have is the one that was supposed to be in the kit...not a mis-box). You should also verify the flywheel is the correct one (is it new or was it already on the car?).

When I run into these issues, just really a process of elimination.

If there is any question i would go with the ACT flywheel. That is a pricy job in the first place I wouldn't want to do it twice. And the throttle response from dropping 35lbs on the fly wheel is incredible.
