Hi all
I just inherited a 03 Mini R50. The clutch is about ready to go and I'm going to dive in and replace it myself. The OEM clutch alignment tool runs about $80 and appears to be just a short shaft followed by a short tapered section then a knurled handle. I have access to a lathe and the tool looks simple to make but I don't have the dimensions. I'd like to make one up before I start the clutch otherwise I'd just make it and test fit till good. If anyone has one could you take some measurements and let me know

 

Just eyeball it, the tool just aligns it off the pressure plate. To do it once isn't worth buying the tool

 

True.. but I bet having the correct spec would be nice (I have the same project on my list )
