Does anyone know if theres a dealer program that can make the fog lights turn on everytime you turn your lights on? I love the way mine look at night, but Im constantly forgetting to switch them on.

Do you know why they are called FOG lights?
Do you have fog every night?

... That is why the lights do not turn themselves on every time you turn on the other lights ...

Did you know, in Europe, it is illegal to drive with fog lights if there is no fog???
Did you know, if you didn't get pulled over first, you'd probly get pulled outta your car and beaten?
These are European cars, and built so the negligible European driver doesn't make this mistake. You're just as cool whether you have your fog lights on or not.

Not that you should do this, given the correct advice given by iancull and number_twelve, but Ian could make a circuit for you to do this automatically.

I've heard of people getting stopped by cops in various US locales for having their fogs on. I think most of the problem is with dumb SUV drivers who have their fogs aimed up higher than the high beams. The MINI fogs are not quite so blinding.

Also, those subarus with so-called fog lights the size of dinner plates, carefully adjusted to shine straight into your eyes

I must admit that when I see a MINI coming toward me with fogs on, I hardly notice them - but when I am in my car, they do the exactly correct job of lighting the few feet directly ahead of the car ... they were useful in the winter to spot potholes on the road between work & home which was being dug over daily to install a sewer. So bad that the front bumper grounded out more than once

Dan is correct ... a couple of people have asked whether I could modify/enhance my MINI circuit to auto-turn-on the front fogs; I have not done it so far ...

Wow, thanx for the a**hole responses. I really appreciate being able to ask an honest question on this board without being flamed about my stupid foglamps being on. I happen to like driving with them on because they look slick on, and they light up that extra 5 feet of road.

With that being said...
::jumps into car, and rides into the night...with the foglamps brightly shining::

Actually, I've always wanted to get rear mounted driving lights, about headreast high so I could blast the guys in the SUV behind me.

Either that or a crapload of chrome trim on the C pillars, spoiler, etc. If pickups can have chrome bumpers that reflect my headlights, turnabout is fair play.

The auto-dimming rear view mirror will solve the problem with bright lights coming from behind, although I like your ideas too.

I'm a little bit more spiteful than that. Plus, I'd need auto-dimming side mirrors too.
