Vinyl wrap over stripes

Hi Guys,

does anyone have experience with adding a wrap over stripes? I have an 05 MCS and I would like to add a wrap to it, however it has stripes, which I do not want to take off because of the fade. If I take off the wrap in a few months, will it take the stripes with it?

I doubt it, but after wrapping there will be raised lines on the bonnet at each edge of the oem stripes.

I would think a vinyl wrap would stick to and damage the stripes underneath. The other issue is that, since the stripes are not totally flush with the surface of the car, you will be able to see them "sticking up" under the vinyl wrap.

I would not care at all about them "sticking up", I just dont want to have faded stripes of paint after I take the wrap off.
