I have an '03 Cooper S. I had my first service done the other day. A few months ago I had the car in for something and they gave me a regular cooper loaner for the day. I noticed that when I unlocked the car, the turn signal lights flashed twice and they flashed once when I locked the car. On my car, the lights only flash when I unlock the car. I asked them to program my car to flash when I unlock it. They told me that my car could not be programed to do this because the lighting control module of earlier date cars would not allow them to do it. I think this is weird since my car already flashes when it locks. Does anyone have any insight on this? Is this true or did the dealer just not want to deal with it. My car was made in April 03. Thanks for your thoughts.
