05 Supercharged MINI Cooper Battery Replacement

My 05 Supercharged MINI Cooper just turned 100,000 miles and is 9 years old with the original battery. Before marching down to the dealer I was wondering if someone could recommend a good quality replacement battery,
(480 CCA 55Ah), that will replace the original without ANY modifications needed to accommodate it in the existing housing.

Thank you in advance!

Batteries tend to be kinda "local" in nature, with a few marking companies putting brands on them...the "southern" version of a battery, even if the model is the same, is not the same as the northern version...so the physical size if "the same battery" can vary....
My suggestion..
Check a couple auto places nearby....
Check for the "suggested" battery....it MUST have vents attached, sometimes with a kit, that connects to the in car vent tube to vent hydrogen gas out of the car....AGM batteries are more $$, but do not have liquid acid in them...tend to have a longervlife, and do better in the cold. Various companies make both, with the agm being the"premium" , like in the diehard sears line.

Zippy,
Thanks for the quick response.

Just spoke to cust. serv. @ Deka Batteries. She mentioned as far as they are concerned, the model they recommend, (NAPA#7547/Deka#647MF), are the same everywhere in the country and there is no difference whether north or south.
Heading out now to purchase the Deka and will report back on the ease or lack of when I attempt to switch out the old.

Walk in to an O'Reillys, Auto Zone, Pep Boys or whatever is near you and say "I need a new battery", what make and year motor you've got, pay for it and they'll take one out and put it in for you and you drive away.

...oh yea, you might have to reset your radio station presets...or not, and maybe the clock.

As long as you get one with a vent. It attached to the plastic tube in the compartment. That vents hydrogen gases out.....

Mission Accomplished!

The Deka 7547 (NAPA)/647MF for Deka) was a perfect match!

9 1/2" x 7 1/2" was the dimension matched and the vent tube hole was right on. $119.00 plus 7% sales tax vs. $192.00 at the local MINI dealer.

This battery has 600 CCA vs, 440 CCA the original battery had.

Thanks and I hope this helps!

Yup, O'reilly had the right one in stock, I watched the guy swap out the batteries and move the vent from the old one, poke it down in the little hole and hook up the vent tube.
