R50/53 Crank Sensor Problem
Crank Sensor Problem
Hey Guys,
Just completed the ratchet strap method for replacing the crank sensor O Ring. Everything went well. Pretty simple procedure.
When I went to start the car, it wouldn't turn over. Hooked up a computer and it gave me a Crank sensor Code. I put the car back up on the lift and made sure the sensor was still plugged in, which it was.
Any ideas what's going on here? why am I getting this code?
Thanks!

Nope nothing prior to replacing the Oring. I need to clarify I just replaced the Oring and not the sensor.
Pop the sensor back out and check that you don't have a bunch of metal sticking to the magnetic sensor. Also be sure that it seated correctly when you put the new crank sensor seal: it has to be completely (seated) flush with the engine block.
