Finished product

OK, so here the photos i promised....These photos will show the clean for my plasti dipped white OEM rims, and also the upper and lower grille blackout, with the headlight rings .

Now, I do have bad news about two of my rims The plasti dip in three spots inside the deep and small holes, started to peel after applying simple green and slight rub with a microfiber soft towel. Now, I will be taking my rims off soon to redo my two peeling rims.

I now see why its better to take the rim completely off, so that you can get HEAVY EVEN coats on your rims. Also to complete this job I will be purchasing the DIP nozzle from DYC for 1.49$. I watched the video and saw the difference between the stock nozzle and the improved nozzle. Which offered a wider spray pattern (almost double), with more product at the same time. Link provided below.

I will start with sill shots of my car during the grille process, leading up to today's wash. Thanks guys and hope you enjoy.

I understand the color on the rims, but what exactly is the appeal of blacking out the chrome? I like the chrome. Everybody blacks out their chrome as though there is a checklist of must-do plasti-dip items.

Is it that once you start dipping you can't stop? I better not start for a while. haha.

The dip nozzle is nice if you have wide spokes or slightly larger surface area to dip. It is not dip sprayer, but it beats the nozzle that comes on the car for sure.

LOL, don't start, but my opinion is chrome only looks fitting on black vehicles. I like for my two door cars to have a different look than factory, but also clean. I will upgrade my rims, but i am done adding anymore plasti dip parts to my mini, besides "MAYBE", blacking out the inside of my headlight housing and adding glossifier.

I have a pepper white mini and used to have all the chrome blacked out. One day I took a look at it and thought that my car looks like it's been beat up and ended up with a black eye. I peeled all of it off that same day. In my opinion, the black out only works for black cars.

The way I view plastidip now is by the quote, "just because you can, it doesn't mean you should."

Well people also overlook the fact that Plastidip comes in a multitude of colors... and not just in a spray can..

I LOVE the clean look, but I'm an all or nothing kinda guy. I refuse to modify the trim unless I go ALL out and delete the door handles with a foot button (and that is WAY too extreme for a daily driver).

I am LOVING the black rims though!!! I just scuffed mine up again yesterday too! *cringe* And when I bought it used the rims were pristine! There were a few spots in the paint, but... *ugh* Next time I rotate my tires, I might grind down the scuff marks, do a filler, and do plasti-dip black. Anybody know a good filler material for rims?

Nice looking rims!
+1 for the dip nozzle it really help!! I have dip few set of wheels and I tried the dip nozzle recently it spread a more even coat of plasti dip on the wheels.
Also, dont forget to soak your can in to hot water while you use it in cold weather. As it will clog up in cold weather.

Thanks, I will ordering a few tips today... And did the hot water soak at the end, and the rim I used it on came out almost perfect, go figure..
