R50/53 Smog testing a modded MCS
Today I took my MCS to the smog station for testing and passed!!!! My car has a CAI, 15% pulley and the Unichip. When I got to the testing station all of the workers came over to check out my car. After hooking up their computer to the OBD port they asked me to open the hood. It turns out that they hadn't seen under the hood of a mini yet. These guys didn't know what they were looking at. One of them noticed the Unichip red light indicator (lit when the "B" program is active) and asked what that was. I told him it was a "program" and acted like it was a normal part of the car. They thanked me for showing them the engine and passed me with flying colors. All they really wanted to know is how fast it was.
sanddan, did they put it on the dyno or just plug it in? If you ask them to get readings and if they are not busy they will give a break down of HC, NOx, and CO numbers. The guys at the gresham station are great.

I live in Oregon in the Portland Metro area. They did not out it on the dyno, just hooked up to the OBD port. The funnest thing about the whole experience was when I showed them the negine compartment. Right there in plain site is the CAI with K&N filter, red coil, red wires and the Unichip module with the red light lit for the "B" map. None of the guys there had a clue what they were looking at.
It passed with flying colors even with all of the mods in place. All is good.
