So I was pulling into a parki g spot as I was turning and hitting the brakes and a grinding sound came from the front driver wheel. The breaks have never made any other noise. Any ideas?

 

Take off the wheel and inspect the pads,.. They're easy to see through the hole on the front of the caliper. I don't have the spec in front of me for minimum thickness, but the pad material should be thicker than the backing plate at least.
