catch can question

I installed a BSH catch can about 750 miles ago on my R53. When I took my front end off to service it, i opened up my supercharger and saw quite a bit of oil residue in it, which is what made me decide to buy the can. I just tried to empty it (750 miles later) and literally nothing came out. I have it on the passengers side linked from the supercharger to the valve cover. Should I have it on the other side ? (valve cover to intake) has anyone else had something like this with their bsh catch cans

I've got mine sitting between the PCV and the intake. Works great.

However, I also have an Alta OCC which isn't made to take any compression.

not sure if this pertains, but i have my alta OCC hooked up between the PCV and gray hard line.....(i reinforced my alta so it doesnt compress)

i have yet to check for oil ... recently put it on and only put 100 miles

but from reading on forums... it seems the driver side OCC doesnt catch much at all (from valve cover to intake side)

Biggest thing that affects how much the catch can catches is its placement....
Put it in a cool spot...like by the DSC/abs pump by the firewall, a cool spot, you can get more...but it near the exhaust, and you can boil the catch (a mixture of water/oil) and let the motor rebreath it......

the alta use silicone for the body of the catch can, while others are using metal....

when you use the alta and use their method of routing the vacuum lines it wont compress...

but there is another "way" of routing the lines.... and when you use the other way (IE; between PCV and gray hardline)... there is vacuum which makes the silicone body COMPRESS during vacuum.... alta has addressed this by providing (you buy) a reinforcement metal ring that you can insert inside the body if you want to use that routing... but you wont have this problem with your BSH... so its not an issue

I AM AN IDIOT
