When gen1 cars were new , mini would give you ONE free oil change per year, regardless of miles....unless the counter said the oil change/inspection was due sooner.... And I too them up on it!! I did a second one after 6 months too.....
Anybody that would let their oil sit in a car for 32...read that again THIRTY TWO MONTHS deserves to have their bearings eaten by the acids that form in older oils as the additives are used up. Bet that calculation was done by the same person who calculated CVT fluid is good for life....lol...we all know how that worked out!!

P.S
I know from your thread, Blackstone does good tests...
But the cost of a test for a car that barely uses 5 quarts oil is iffy....
So I change it...
The oil is then burnt...in a furnace....
And I have had a good look at the underside of my car, and inspected the PS fan!!

I keep toying with the idea of getting a Fumoto drain plug valve. Ha, the last time I changed mine I was really wishing I had because the stupid drain plug just happened to fly out of my grasp and into the drain hole in the middle of my drain pan http://www.blitzusa.com/products/oil...s/podp15od.htm . As it turns out, its just the right size to plug that sucker up.

So, the oil is rising and rising, which it usually does at first, but it keeps going and I'm thinking I forgot to pop the vent, then I finally realize it and shove my hand in there to pull it out, getting hot oil all over (just below actual burning temp thankfully) my hand and it still spills all over the floor too.

I bring it out from the top and I have a JCW bar installed. It gets easier the more times you do it.
