I've looked through the forums I'm sure my tags aren't correct but is there anyone who's purchased like projector style head lamps and replaced their old hid with new? Does this make sense?

 

You talking about the "refresh" projector headlights from a 2005+ gen1?
Many have....pretty sure it is plug and play from earlier hid's....
I have them from the factory...they are in a word awesome for headlights.....

 

So I could buy 2005+ headlight housings and then replace mine with them and it's all plug and play huh? That's all I was curious of, does it make your headlights brighter and do they still move when you accelerate? And was it very difficult?

 

Move when you accelerate??? The gen1 2005+ headlights are not adapative(are you thinking of late gen2 headlights?? Very different) ....but they kick azz...much better that the earlier auto leveling reflector type...they are still auto leveling, but look better, project the light better, etc. They are super bright, and put the light where you want it.

 

There are quite a few threads around about folks swapping out the the earlier xenon for the later gen1 xenon's...biggest issue is getting the parts for a reasonable $$.

 

Yes my 2003 mcs has auto leveling gods do 1st gens not have that? Has anyone done a swap with an aftermarket headlamp projector hid assembly?
