What's up with the little rectangular reflectors on the side of the black plastic trim/bumpers of the new MINIs? I don't see these in any photos of the cars by MINIUSA on their site, but I see them on the MINIs that members own (orange in front, red in back). Did they not want to show them and by the time you get your MINI and see them, it's too late? :???: I think they're tacky lookin'. Can they be popped off safely? Anyone done that yet? What do you think?

 

They aren't tacky reflectors, they are actual lights. And they look really cool at night. :smile:

The USA version of Mini needs to comply federal regulations, side lights are some of them. so wolrd wide cars did not have them, that´s why in some picture did not show it.

 

If you look closely, you will see that the lower part of the fender trim can be removed and interchanged so that each part is a seperate component (just like all BMW's).

In Japan they do not have these reflectors and we'll be sourching a set of these lower trim parts. I think they are tacky and I do understand that in the US, they are required - but they are tacky.
