I'm using 10% ethanol blended gas with 94 octane and we're driving from Canada down to San Diego on the 29Oct and need to know who on the west coast sells a similar product : :???:

 

I'm going to guess you're coming from Vancouver/Western B.C. and not Calgary or Edmonton since they don't have dealerships yet. So you probably won't be coming through Montana, Wyoming or Colorado. Those states sell 91 octane because of the altitude.

When I lived in SoCali, I generally saw premium with 93 octane, sometimes 92. There are specially blended fuels for California, so I would imagine that the ethanol percentage is similar to what you've seen in Canada.

I'm not sure about Oregon and Washington, but my recollection from a road trip a couple years ago is that premium in Oregon had similar octane ratings to California. That and in Oregon they *will* pump the gas for you, as full service is the law.

thanx for the info . You're right, we are going down the I5 from Vancouver. May try out the coast highway to see how the S compares to my Alfa

 

Oregon pumps "modified gas" in the winter (I believe it's added ethanol) to reduce pollution in the winter.
