If your still in service mode and high mileage all the better, may have been due anyways.

When things went awry for me I just upgraded

This is my next mod after new seats....

Dang, that sucks...not being able to finish the job after doing all that work is very frustrating, not to mention now you have to buy another radiator. Hopefully you get it done soon so we can see the pics.

This is a great thing to have. I live in Sunny Florida and on my SGII I run between 191-197 degrees.

My brother just stopped by again and asked me how it was going. Then he gives my dad fifty bucks. ???

I told him I was going to beat his @zz if I saw him again this weekend.

Ok the radiator is in. I've had to make a few mods with included some copper hot water heater fittings. Stupid me didnt get ends to braze longer ends so I had to fudge with ruffing up the copper and creating spikes in the metal then using sealant on the metal and hoses. I also ruffed up the inside of the hoses. Then applied sealant to both sides and let it dry. Anyway I ran it for 30 min and no leaks so far. Turned it off and let it cool down. Im putting it all back together. Test run later around town. Wish me luck.

Hope everything buttons up fine. Some detailed pics would be great! This is a good upgrade/option for failed chargers/pumps.

Been waiting for someone to come up w/ a pump-only bolt-on kit for sometime now. This will keep us all from worrying about those charger/pump gears. Glad Sprintex started it. Calling out vendors......Way, DT, Outmotoring, anyone?

Didnt get to fully test it as I threw a belt last night 50 miles out of town. But I can say it was pulling a ton harder and spinning up faster then with the PTO/Waterpump.

^^ Ditto

... I've been holding off on getting a pulley, because I figured it would make the PTO gears fail 15% sooner.

Now I'm thinking it wouldn't be as big of a deal if it failed. Just go electric.

I think I mentioned that the water pump its self was the main issues. The PTO gears actually looked nice. I removed the larger gear and had the hole welded then used it as a block off plate.

Ok So me Mini is not at my folks house it is about thirty minutes away in a parking lot. I need to put a charged battery in it and drive it here. No alternator means fully charged battery to run car. lol

Napa has the belt I need. Gates K060535. I was using the Goodyear Gatorback. Wont be using it anymore. First off that is a fricken noisy belt. You can hear it inside the car. I dont like hearing noise that is just noise. Otherwise Id have cans hanging off the rear of my car on a string. Or dragging my little brother for punching a hole in my radiator.

BMW MINI uses Contitech 6pk1388 for stock pulley, 1374 for a JCW. So far, these haven't given me problems. Pelican & dealerships have em.

That'll work but the JCW pulley is about 11% over the MCS pulley and Im using a 15%, so the K060535 equivalent of the 6KP-13** is the best way to go.

KO60535 is 53.5" equivalent to 1359mm. 6PK1360 should do, then. 14mm shorter than 1374!

Any chance that you will be able to post pics and a write up for how you installed the pump?

I will get everything written up in a little while. I am currently going thru a state to state move and enrolling my daughter in school. So Ive got a lot going on.

But I can let you know some things about the new pump Ive noticed.

The engine does have a much different sound to it. You can not hear the water pump unless the engine is off. My temps are stable while driving and even though I did not dyno my car before and after it does pull better then before. The supercharger spins up faster. I do have a few more mods and then I am going for a dyne/tune. Will more then likely have the mini in the garage on blocks getting her ready for spring driving. Anyway I have some photo's and will write something up when I get the chances. Thanks to Turbo R53 and Grey for helpin out with Q's and photo's. This is well worth the cash spent.

Hope you get the time to post a more detailed how-to on this upgrade MINI should've provided in the 1st place. Been looking at this direction since Sprintex came out. Great job, RM!

Sorry to hear that, Raven. Hope everything turns out well. I'm sure many would appreciate a good DIY once you're ready.
