I recently upgraded the suspension on my Mini. Swift springs, koni yellows and spc front camber plates. When i had the alignment done they could only get 2 degrees on the right side before it was at the end of the adjustment and 2.4 degrees on the left side. We set them both at 2 degrees. When you look at the center line of the strut and the center line of the hole in the top of the strut tower they are not equidistant between the right and left sides. The car has no indication of ever being in an accident. Now my question. Is this typical of the Mini shell to to vary this much side to side or is there some side to side adjustment in the sub frame to shell attachment? Or could there be another problem. Also the strut towers were slightly mushroomed but flatted out nicely.

 

 

Think the mushrooming might account for it....or simple wear and potholes...suspensions get beat to heck....and .4° differeance at the wheels isn't much...nothing is perfect...but 10 years of potholes makes 100% certain of that!

 

This is my first Mini and i am still getting up to speed on all the idiosyncrasy's. I have owned Hondas for almost 30 years and unless they have been wrecked the shells are spot on, so Hondas are my only point of reference. Thanks for the input.
