I have a freind with a 2003 R53, Fan started to make a noise so he got a new one. The fan looks the some but it connect, plugs in but had to remove a long looking thing. So what I need is a thread that may help us see if the new fan and how it looks.

 

The early MINI fans did not have a grille and I believe they did not have the little resistor box.

What does the long thing look like?

Maybe they did the air channel mod that uses the newer fan minus the grille and attaches the "long tube" , which then goes to the new belly pan? Possible?
