I had squeaky windows for awhile when I open and closed the windows, I then took them into my dealer and he said their lubricant was "dry" well now they're both doing it again? pretty crazy. Any idea why this is reoccuring? argh! Anything? I can do without having to take it back in to the dealer.

Mine do it when it's hot out and it's been sitting outside in the sun.
Only the drivers side.
Gonna have the dealer take a look at it on monday when they install my roof rack.

Anyone know how to access the window mechanism??? :???:

Mine does the same thing. Quiet all winter, but now that it's getting warmer out, it's back. My dealer has nothing to remedy this except to suggest using silicone on the seals (which does not solve the problem).

Mine squeaks ridiculously after any wet weather, including car washes.

Only my driver side window squeaks, but I'm wondering if it has anything to do with usage. I rarely open the passenger side window.

Mine both squeak. They sound a lot like when you run a squeegee (sp??) across a window, which doesn't surprise me since the squeak comes from the rubber gasket. It wasn't bad in NYC (where it was cooler), but now in FL, it's much louder. It's annoying, but not nearly as annoying as not being able to see traffic lights when you are the first one in line or having sun visors that are too small to block any sun.

The only time my windows squeak is when I roll them down right after I wash the car. So maybe the poster above has a point.

Mine only squeak when it is hot outside and the car is in direct sun light. I hate the sound because it makes me think the window motors will be breaking at 50,001 miles

My driver's side window squeaked and then one day I got 3 vertical cuts in the window glass. The mechanism had failed. Dealer replaced window and mechanism with NO questions. Hmmm....

Both sides here. I attributed it to the Tints but coincidently that was done recently with the warmer weather. I'll check the sound in both wet and dry as well as temperature variations.

I would definitely recommend taking the car in to the dealer and getting the window noise checked. My driver's window also sqeaked and squealed during up and down travel on warm or very sunny days. It took replacement of the window motor and regulator assembly to cure the symptom. The long version of the story is here:

If the window squeaks with the door open, that eliminates the door edge seal as the culprit!

"window lubricant" thats nice. In my book thats about the same as halogen fluid and muffler bearings. The regulators and motors shouldn't need lubricating for a LONG time. That said, my 02 has had the drivers side regulator replaced twice now. Once cause it squeaked, second for rattles.I don't think it's a lube problem, it's a design problem. These cars were rushed to market. Don't get me wrong, they are an absolute blast to drive, but the interior build quality is on par with the finest hyundais and yugos of the mid 80's. I've got 4k left on my bumper to bumper warranty, what to do? And my sunroof is rattling again, and i've got the stumble big time, and the gray finish is peeling off the leather on my driver's seat.

These are professional dealer mechanics, they don't make money lubricating stuff, and its not their personal car. You want to drive an '81 (pick a car you detest)_______ for a week ?
Fix it yourself its easy. mikemike

Speaking of windows, anyone ever have the problem of the window not going down just a bit when you open the door. Mine were doing that the other day and I couldn't shut the door without the window going on the outside of the gutter.

This happens to me ! I have to get in and start the car with the door open, then bring down the window and then close the door, then I put up the window and cut the car off. I then tell Mr Bridger off, usually something about him not giving me any bloody crap and when I opened up the door to get out, it worked correctly....

I have found cussing works!

Actually, I believe it's something like rebooting your computer. I cut the car off and when I restart him, he's got it all sorted out and knows what he's doing. It even worked when he made the hatch light stay on when the hatch was closed, I have found I just pull over, cut off the car, restart the car and it's fixed.
