DMF-Flywheel question

I currently have my 04' S torn down to the flywheel. The "while your in that far" has cost me close to $1500, but hey'.
The original LUK flywheel was making the ticking noises with the clutch in and since I was slipping under hard throttle I figured it was time. Now when I got to the clutch, the disc mic'ed out at .040 above rivet heads, but the Bentley said replace if .020" or less....the flywheel looked fine but I 'm replacing it anyway. My question is, are the new LUK flywheels the same as original and may develop the same noises soon anyway or has there been some improvements, and also, was it just a noise and not some malfunction?

While your at it .....all ball joints(4) powerflex control arm bushings, inner and outer tie rods, wheel bearings, top engine mount, plugs, wires and valve cover gasket...did the powersteering pump and fan last summer, and eibach and bilstein all around last year as well.

I know you will all say thermostat and water pump, but I have to save some fun for later!
