R50/53 Happy MINI owners: Post about your positive ownership experi
Love, love, love my MCS. Most fun driving I’ve had in years, apart from F1 Boston karting. I’ve got an hour commute each way into downtown Boston and the car always makes it fun. And I can park in the tightest spots – which is an added bonus. Drove it down to NYC a few weeks ago and it’s a great cruiser too, in spite of the short wheelbase. And the seats are great on long distances. I rolled an A4 into a tree a few years ago, which didn’t do my back any good – so I really need good seats.
Only 3K on the clock and 7 weeks into it, so I’m still in the honeymoon phase. In the Indi blue with a white top, it’s also a great looking car – I get plenty of heads turning. I have the 3 packages, bonnet stripes, leather, driving spots and the MP3 auxiliary jack. The audio jack is a great option to get, and the dealer fits it so you can put it on any Mini.
Only issue was a minor paint blemish on the driver’s door I noticed when I got home. Must have been done in transit. Took it back up to Mini of Peabody (who rock) and they buffed it up and changed my reprogrammable features in 15 minutes – then washed the car – all for free. I’ve had a ton of cars and they are the best car dealer I’ve ever been to. They make you feel like you’re one of the family and part of the club. You see people just hanging out there.
All in all the car is more than a car, its an experience. And the car is so great you don’t have to break the speed limits (ish) to have fun.
Now come back and ask me in 3 years and with 50K on the clock…..

4k on MCS JCW IB/W Aero kit. with everything except auto wipes/rearview and backup warning.
Only complain is the Aero Kit came prepainted and paint was flecking off. New Country is taking care of me and no complaints.
My MA Bob Craig was great, the Mainteneance guy was not adversarial and very friendly. No complaints, I hope I dont ever have any.
Wait one huge complaint---When I was waiting for my Mini time stopped. Now that I have it time flies by, and my right foot is about 50lbs heavier.

Great idea for a post. My daughter is just learning to ride her bicycle. When she comes racing down the street there's this look of sheer happiness on her face -- that's how I feel every day when I drive this car. For someone who drives in Washington DC traffic, that's saying something. And I'm getting an average of over 29 MPG.
I have a 9/03 build, Indi-blue MCS with sport, performance, and winter packages. I bought it sight-unseen from Mini of Southampton, NY and had a great out-of-state buying experience.
I've been to Mini of Towson, MD for service twice. Once to buy an Aux cable for the stereo and once for an oil change, and they were very easy to deal with and helpful. No complaints there.
I'd say this car has met and exceeded all of my expectations.

I love everything about my Mini! Next to my iPod, it's the best purchase I've made. It puts a smile on my face every morning on the way to work. It's fun to drive to my appointments and a blast to drive on the track. It's fun reading articles about the Mini, meeting Mini drivers, buying parts, etc. etc. My "Frackmobile" is like part of the family. Happy Motoring!
>>If we really like our MINI I think we can vote YES more than once, your last election was like that in Florida no?
Dimpled and pregnant chads are welcomed too! yes you can vote as many times as you want...after all, the whiners in this site repeat themselves millions and millions of times over so much they truly believe everything they type. After all, repetition is the most effective tool to hammer one's ideas into other peoples heads

2003 MCS BRG/B, 3/2003 build, 10,600 miles Brian Harris Mini in Baton Rouge
Issues to date: squeaky glove box - fixed it myself, stumble - dealer installed v 37 now have smoother acceleration and, i think, better gas mileage.
Mods: wheels/tires, glove box and console organizers, bonnet stripes, parcel shelf, window tint, saddle bags, chrome grill (my latest addition).
I've owned about a dozen cars/trucks in my lifetime and this one is hands down the most fun. I'm coming up on a year and it's still my baby.

CR/CR MCS purchased at Niello in Sacramento.
2/03 build with 16,000 miles(I keep in the garage during the Sierra winters).
No complaints, actually I may have wasted money on the extended warrenty because I have had only one problem so far. The dealer has been outstanding from the time I purchased the car to the care in the service department. My only complaint is I don't want to drive in when it snows. Come on spring.
Thanks for the positive vibes.

My MCS is coming up to two years on the road. I have crashed it, I have damaged it, I have abused it and I race it – on the track that is. I love my MCS and have never once had a problem with the car itself because of a defect or manufacturing.
My MCS is great and I will never sell it, only buy another.

OK. I can jump in here. My '03 MCS is a Feb. '03 build with almost 12,000 miles and has been just about perfect so far. I had a fuel pump go out after about 3 months, but, it was, of course, replaced under warranty. I experienced Roadside and it was a great experience!
A lot of mods later (see sig), I am truly content.

I own an ‘04 MCS/JCW and an ‘02 Z3. They are both fun to drive (although very different) and they put a big smile on my face each and every time I think about either one. These two cars have given me more pleasure than any others in my 55 years of driving! Niello, Crevier, and Assael have always given me excellent service.
2003 Cooper, 3/03 build, took delivery 5/13/03, 9200 miles.
Hit by road debris 12/03, $4600 worth of front-end bodywork by Metro Auto Rebuild of Seattle, restored to like-new shape.
Only minor problems: one of the gas cylinders supporting the rear hatch failed so hatch won't stay up by itself. Too much flex/rattle in driver's door window glass. Driver's seat "forgets" its position when you slide it forward.
The dash rattles have all gone away by themselves and the windshield is unblemished.
LOVE the car more than ever.

Sept '03 build 2004 MCS; ~7,000 miles.
Mini of St. Louis - thumbs up. No service experience yet, but I've called the service dept for a couple of questions and they were very polite and helpful.
A few minor rattles/buzzes last winter---now disappeared. (By the way, I got the Consumer Reports survey and noted the rattles in my reply.)
I'm very happy with my car. My MINI and I were on the track for the first time a couple of weekends ago (Phil Wick's driving academy) and that kicked up the satisfaction level several notches!

July '02 build, 2002 CVT Cooper
About 26,500 miles
MINI of Towson - :thumbs up:
Really helpful in the service department and good about giving out loaners if they are needed.
I have to take it back in for fog light replacement, but they have a CVT loaner for me to use when I do that.
I LOVE my MINI. Whenever I park it someplace, I always still look back over my shoulder while I'm walking away from her. I love the way the MINI looks and handles. I love the huge sunroof and driving around with all the windows down and top open during good weather. People STILL give me comments almost daily and I've had her for almost 2 years.
Plus...driving anything larger is a huge pain in the *** now. I don't know if I will ever be able to drive a larger car ever again!
