Ok cool, the one in the interior, you see that red wire going into one of the fuses? That is part of the cable on the dashboard so it is in fact for a radar detector, I'm not sure if is good for any radar or if its a one brand specific but at least you don't have to do the extra work if you get one, it could be for a Valentine but I'm not sure

Okay cool that's great, the mystery has finally ended ! just a few more questions/opinions.

http://media.caranddriver.com/images...s-1280x782.jpg

how would i obtain a grill like that?

I have been looking at all the m7 grills and love them but those 2 large air intake squares or what ever they are look amazing aswell

And has anyone had experience with those touch up paint pens or kits? and what would you recommend.

Because i have noticed a few small scratches that are pretty minor and hard to notice unless you are looking for them. But i would still like to touch them up

That picture is of the new R56LCI MINI Goodwood Bespoke edition: Nice car BTW.

You could go with the factory Aero Grille.

Top section:

& Bottom section

http://www.ecstuning.com/Search/51110140255/ES73435/

Touch up paint pens do work pretty good. Just take your time and have a steady hand.

Just need the paint code number , its three digits and on a sticker near the passenger side strut / wheel well section. Looks like you have a dark silver metallic MINI Cooper Convertible S.

They match very close and come with base and clear coat.

Thanks

Thanks
Thank you and i have the paint all ready to order just need to decide on a grill because frankly i am not a huge fan of the OEM grill

But i am defiantly going to order the Front/rear fog-light and switch bank kit from ECS tuning

That seems like a strong start and i can be picky on the grill and radar detector later.

I cannot thank you guys enough for helping me out and i hope in the future i can help someone else out once i am more experienced

But as for now i don't have much more to ask for now so i am going to start blowing all my money and i will keep this thread updated with progression pictures and if i need anymore help ill pop out some more questions!

Thank you everyone again for your help especially you minibx!

No problem anytime, glad I can help, I'm just paying it forward since I got a lot of help from this site in the short time that I have been here.
Glad that ECS has the part since I wasn't sure about that one.
I want to do the fogs as well I hear that it is involved but it does come with instructions, in fact I think that I have them on PDF somewhere.
The switch bank are very easy to install I think the most difficult would be the wires.

In fact I'm going to hijack a bit, thanks for the quick shipping ECS, also in order to install the right side horn can I do this with the front wheel off or do I need to take off the bumper cover anyways? I order the low tone horn I hope that is the righ side one. Part 61337193996 for an 08/05 built R53. Thanks a lot

Your all welcome,

61337193996 is the low tone horn.

This sits above the front fog light on the passenger side of the core support.

You could try to get it from the wheel well but I dont want you to damage the core supposrt bending it back.

I would suggest taking the bumper main skin off and then replacing it there.

Looks like you have the correct part.

Here is a link to a helpful guide: Just get to the bumper cover part and you can access the horn. You shoudl not have to take off any support metal bracing.

https://www.northamericanmotoring.co...front-end.html

Good luck.

Bringing this thread back to life already :O!

So i have been seeing a lot of people using vinyl wraps on their cars and maybe i am just trying to be creative but anyway ill try to get you guys into my thinking process.

So my car is Mostly a metallic silver, with black stripes ect. The interior is all silver and black with like the all weather floormats having the red "S" symbol aswell as the door sills have that "Cooper s " in red and so i was thinking if i should wrap all my chrome in red and try and accent the red in well keeping the neutral gray and black

I'll try to get you guys enough pictures so you can see and make your own opinions,

Once again i am not looking for people to just agree with me or anything i would love constructive criticism, i just don't want it to end up looking stupid :O

So most of that chrome would turn red and then maybe some areas on the door, And also is it possible to wrap my 2 tone seats (Gray,Black) and cover the gray with red vinyl or will it ruin the feel? I have never dealt with vinyl so i am kind of clueless.

Recent update:

Tried a friends valentine one in my car and it was a perfect match for that wire,
Ordered one online

Ordered some plasti-dip to black out some of the chrome i am not a fan of.

Ordered the JCW Matte grill

Ordered the Front/rear fog lights aswell as the switch bay

Looking for maybe a black jack mirror cap somewhere

Also i do not want to have a track car but what are some upgrades i can get for my mini to make it more street racing worthy?

Not necessarily like actual street racing but just, More speed for speeding on the highway and such ?

What are the first speed upgrades?

ECS since you are here I will be placing an order for the motor and regulator for the left/Driver side on my R53 WMWRE33515TL14986 08/05 build
I do have the special tool already but the dealer told me that I'll need an adaptor plate for the motor it's plastic, do I need this or can I re use the old one? If you can confirm the parts I'll appreciate it. Thanks I will be ordering at the end of the week and the horn info again everything went well and now I have a grown up horn again lol. Sorry for the hijack again

" and now I have a grown up horn again lol " That's the best comment of the day.

Great news and thanks. I am here to help. Its great you have the MINI BMW window tool makes the job allot easier.

MINI window tool
http://www.ecstuning.com/Search/83300494251/ES199501/

"dealer told me that I'll need an adapter plate for the motor it's plastic"

This is nylon adapter plate the is for production R50 R52 R53 6/2005- MINIs . Some people strip these out on removal and install , thus that why MINI recommends it , also they are nylon and not metal so they are sometime prone to crack on removal.

Its cheap insurance since you are doing this all at once. I have replaced them before with no problem , but I don't know what state yours will be on removal.

Here is the part numbers for the adapters.

http://www.ecstuning.com/Search/51337197471/
http://www.ecstuning.com/Search/51337197472/

Do you have the part numbers for the motor and regulator still?

Thanks
