I have extreamly minimal notice when i took them off. Now that i buffed and waxed the whole hood you could never tell. but it all depends on location of the vehicle. if its a mid-western car probably more likly to have faded paint...but give it a shot, all you need is a hair dryer and a little goo-gone and clean rags! and if it does leave a mark just buff and wax er and if that doesnt work get some new strips!

Plus the clear bra you had on there might have helped too against the fading. I'm not sure if I would pull it off mine after a couple years without some other protection on it.

Perfect ... i will probably be doing this in the coming weeks. If it doesnt work out its no big deal since i was planning on getting the hood repainted and then dipping the car to a new color

How hard is it to use the 3m Tape?? I'm looking into doing this myself and I tend to rush things like this, and wanted to know if I should just have someone else do it lol

Its super easy. I hair dryer and a sharp exacto knife and a credit card. just use patience and its super easy. just peel it off and do it again if it doesn't look write. the hair dryer helps keep the vinyl movable and stretchable

Just did it. BUT i dont like that i painted the projector shrouds black...so im going to use nail polish remover and get the projector shrouds back to chrome! I researched my head off all night tring to figure out what will take the duplicolor paint off without hurting the chrome underneath. So i took the chrome off my old grill and painted it in the same black i did my shrouds in and gave it a go, once it dried. need a little elbow grease but came right off. it'll give it some more contrast in the headlights. to me they look a little to ricy ALL blacked out... im going to tackle it tomorrow. ill post pictures!

I think it's called Kraut when the car is European.

And I get what you mean, I think the silver contrast inside will look really classy when you change it. Can't wait to see it!

At first I was wondering this as well, because I face the same dilemma (garage I was squatting in is no longer available), but then I remembered it looks like he has one at work and he also works on his parts indoors at the dinner table??

much better...
Hey, just wondering where you ordered those side blinkers from? and how much of a pain is it to replace? I noticed today that one of the clips broke off of the light, so it's dangling by the connector. Not a great look.

I had my S scuttle fall off on the driver side(one of the clips broke), I siliconed it back into place and never had an issue again... And it seems to have stopped the slight noise from that section. And removing will be a cinch... Xacto knife and then once its cut itll rub right off. I used the GE branded blue-printed hand tube from LOWES, even saw it at Target the other day. Sounded cheaper than buying new. Good luck !

I got the same grill but in matte black. Still one of my favourite mods I've done appearance wise!

edit: and just heads up , the bumper doesn't need to be taken off to remove the lower grill. Its held on with an adhesive. I just wrapped a putty knife in an old rag and pried it off.

That's the VIP bar, right? Are the lights hooked up to the bonnet, or are they fixed to the bumper area?
