Traction much?

So I just recently install a 17%, CAI, Ignition Coil, and Plugs. The car pushes about 16lbs at WOT, which is music to my ears : )

ANYWAYS, So with all this new found power, it seems I have lost one very important thing....traction.

If I get on it in first gear, I break loose. Shifting to second? Breaks loose. I'd love to have some fun light to light but man! Anyone have some suggestions on tires? Or other improvements/changes to combat the constant torque steer battle?

My 15% did the same thing to me...I'm guessing you don't have a limited slip. That would be the best thing to do for grip.

I just learned that I should leave traction control on most of the time or feather the throttle.

As for torque steer, if you havent replaced the front lca bushings you should throw some poly ones in there. It helped negate some of my torque steer.

LSD is gonna help. A lot. Sticky tires are only going to help as long as they stay sticky.

Glad I'm not the only one! Yeah it has 62k on odo, so probably a good time to replace the LCA bushings. Not sure that I want to drop $1000 on a LSD at the moment.

Thats why I said I leave traction control on most of the time and when I feel like having a spirited drive I just keep the right foot from mashing the gas too hard

Better tires....
With my winters on or a tiny bit of sand on the road...or even cold temps with my other tires...i do the same....
Cold temps are great for HP, but for most tires, it is a bad thing....
It amazes me the number of folks who will spend $3000 on mods, then buy sub $100 tirerack bargin basment tires.....
Get a good tire for how YOU drive....and what you want....sounds like you need more traction for the temps you have!!

For sure. We're having 30-40 degree temps right now which is amazing for making power, but trying to put that power down is terrible!

Going to have to invest in some good tires.

You'll need a summer compound to really put the power down..I've got 2 month old Continental DWS and they break loose if I punch it in first...and did so even in the few 70* days I've had since then...and my pulley is 2% larger than yours
