were you charged for (did you ask for) this?In Mass. you have 5 days to obtain this.Seems pretty lame of the dealer not to address this ,but they are under no"obligation " to put one on."COMMUNICATION BREAKDOWN" GOTTA LEAVE A PRETTY SOUR TASTE IN YOUR MOUTH.When I got mine, the salesman accompanied me down to the sister dealership across townn and had it put on for me I'd be on the phone to see wtf !!!!

Like holdenontoit said, if you specifically paid for the state inspection then you should have received it...but in many places it's up to the new owner (you) to get the car inspected within the window allowed by the state. But if you did pay, it'd be noted on the paperwork you signed at delivery. Dealers have to disclose the charge for inspection, taxes, registration, etc. on the bill of sale. Now that you've settled down, look at this and see if you paid.

Besides, inspection on a brand new car takes all of about 5 minutes and passing is a foregone conclusion...so no big deal in terms of time or risk.

Otherwise, I'd say that one lesson you've learned from this experience is to INSPECT (not state inspection, but your own personal review) the car before you drive off the lot. This can be difficult in the excited frenzy many buyers are in at delivery, but take your time next time and you'll avoid this sort of confusion.

Good luck with the new MINI!

huh no inspection sticker, wat the heck..........if u didn't pay for the car in full then you have to have insurance to pull it out the lot. If you dealer didn't get you an inspection sticker then are you covered by insurance right now? The TT&L does include those fees for the inspection............BTW my inspection doesn't expire for 2 yrs..........

^ different states have different rules, and isykal has never told us where he's from. In my state (MA), insurance has nothing to do with inspection. As long as I have plates (which DO require insurance), I can drive for 5 days before getting an inspection sticker on a new car.
