I was just wondering if anyone out there has moded either their AERO Grille itself (slits or something) or maybe were able to re-position the fogs in some way to make them both work out together? Any pictures would be awesome, if anyone has them.

If none of you have done this, or have't seen it done, I'm all ears for everyone's suggestions and/or recommendations!!!!

I thought about doing this mod for a while. Difficulty comes with the stock rally lights being riveted to the hood which makes putting an aero grille on a pain. I have seen people just dremel slits in the aero grille which seems pretty good. If youre just looking for the blacked look you can plastidip the normal grille with the rally lights still attached. I took that approach and it looks great and wasnt labor intensive at all.

first so as not to confuse things you're really concerned with the factory Driving Lights, and the factory bracket pop riveted to the bonnet. fogs are below the turn signals.

If you look at the factory kit's instructions
http://www.minimania.com/pdfile/NMA3030_INSTR.zip
on page 5 you'll see that they address the Aero grill, and yes the factory way WAS to cut holes in the grill

IF the brackets are in the correct location there WAS a part number for a template in the instructions but past posts have said the dealer was no longer able to get that part. I once played with enlarging a scan from the instructions with some success but I'll repeat that its worth is VERY dependent on the brackets being in the exact factory location. When I installed brackets for folks I asked where they wanted then and sometimes that was no at the factory location (line up with stripes please)

If I were going to do this I'd simply make a cardboard template of where my brackets are and use that to cut slots in the Aero grill. (make a cardboard grill with the slots) You'd need to remove the lights from the brackets, then slide the grill into place then re-install the lights but they are simple things to do.

I've done the Aero grill mod for a number of folks .... you're gonna have the Dremel out anyway assuming you plan to install both parts so what's a lil' more cuttin'?

Thank you for all the info (ESPECIALLY THAT .PDF) , and yes I did definitely meant the Factory Driving Lights.....**** I wish you could change the title of a thread now!!! (Which were factory installed, basically inline with the factory strips, my car used to have) My bad.... This is pretty much what I was figuring was going to have to happen, so that's good. Does anyone by chance have any pictures of someones car that has already done this?? I have all the necessary tools to do the job accurately, but was jut curious as to what others have done....

Yeah I've thought about that, but not sure that I'm sold on that look in particular, but thanks for the response. But your Plasti-Dip Job does look darn good man... Maybe I will just to that... MAYBE?? I need to see one pic of the Aero Grill with the FACTORY DRIVING LIGHTS first, before I can move foward, i think!

I don't have any close up pictures of mine, but I can tell you that the grill has dremel cut slits that the brackets feed through.

A quick Google search turned up this: http://www.mini-madness.com/ProductI...-light-kit.jpg
which isn't the best for detail, but gives a good reference to look at.

I personally also recommend staying away from the factory chrome kit if you haven't already bought a kit. Mine and several others that I have seen are rusted. There is a stainless steel version available from overseas and a few aftermarket alternatives that may work better. I am looking at the stainless version as a replacement to mine.

Hey thanks for all this. The image in the link look sweet IMO.

That's basically all I was looking for. Good googleing!!! And again thank you so much. My car has the stock chrome & body matched inserts right now, but am looking to switch in up to this now!!

What are you referring to with the chrome and/or stainless??
