Now before I wash it again I want to check the BMC for moisture and also waterproof the connector in the rear hatch since I also had that "boonk" issue a few car washes before, the is a DYI on this.
I also have an Jet Black 05, you have a really nice car!!
I was not aware of this "boonk" issue. I will definitely take a precaution in doing this.
Were you blowing fuses from the water getting in the connector?

My boyfriend and I looked at my BCM and it was moisture free.
BTW, make sure you pump up your passenger seat as high as it can go to make it a lot easier to get the kicker panel out. It took us forever until I figured that out.

Haha, thanks. I take really good care of him. So did the owner before me.

I am the same way! I get washes for free since I work at a carwash.. but it's high pressure so it's really easy for water to get anywhere. I'm a little cautious about it now. I've only washed him once since I got him back.

This will give you a better idea https://www.northamericanmotoring.co...elf-fixed.html

With the hatch you do not get blown fuses as far as I can tell but who know since is the same fuse as the interior lights, what it does is that if water gets in after a wash it will start to click as if you were unlocking the car and the hatch and it will keep clicking sometimes if you close it it will open by itself or if you turn the headlights or parking lights it would open as well, it's very weird stuff

Thanks for the tip, maybe the moisture was inside the circuit board, I get water under the rubber on the doors after every wash so i think that i will find moisture for sure.

I have to wash it because we had snow last week and all that salt makes me nervous but i will have to do it myself with a bucket, no high pressure stuff for now.
I have a few for issues that I need to take care of, like the waterpump that is leaking and PS pump hose as well you don't want to know how much MINI wants to charge for that so a trip to HELIX in PA is due

Oh wow.. yeah that is some crazy stuff.
I haven't had any issues with moisture getting anywhere. *knocks on wood*

Yeah, MINI couldn't wash it because of 18* weather. Salt makes me nervous too.. :/

Since that is connected to the bus of the car, which communicates everything to each part, it was causing the malfunctions.

I had to pay for the BCM but since they made a mistake, they covered the iPod Adaptor and labor.

Did they diagnosis it as being the BCM along WITH the iPod Adaptor?
That is EXACTLY what happened to me! A bad BCM was diagnosed and replaced, same problems the next day and 6 hours of diagnosing the iPod adapter was the problem. That part was free of charge. Ive been trouble free for months now.

Hmm.. Weird. So it seems they should know to check the iPod adaptor first. xP I took my car in around 2PM one day and didn't get it back until 3:30PM the next. But they were very generous and apologized multiple times for their mistake.

This would be the first I have heard of this. I doubt that anyone would have guessed it was the adapter. Good to know now though for future reference.

Yeah, they were pretty surprised too. It's weird how that little of a thing can affect the entire car.
