New R53 owner...well....on monday!

And well not me but....my dad haha. Just test drove a chili red mini S. It has 104,000 miles and the owner was asking $9000 but my old man offered him $8000 and the guy accepted. The car has white stripes and roof.

I've already been asked to find an exhaust and bolt on performance parts for it so it's time to do some research. I KNOW I KNOW.....COOL STORY BRAH. I'm exicited tho

Supercharger pulley, if one isnt already installed, will make a world of difference. As far as exhausts go, I'd say get the invidia cat back. Thats what I'm going to get once I have enough saved up. Also, if it doesnt have one, an open cone intake would unleash more of that glorious whine.

First Gen MINIs are awesome. Chili Red is an awesome color. Love CR with the white roof and stripes .... really pops.

Great find! If it's an 05 or 06, even better!

The car's an 04

Is there anything I should check on the car to see how it's doing maintenance wise?? I'll read through the FAQ section tomorrow.

Also I noticed there was some slack in the drivetrain. I hope everything's ok~!!!

Can't wait to get the intake, exhaust, and reduced pulley on . My dad is thinking about a cheaper exhaust than the one's i've listed off to him. The most inexpensive being around $600 (invidia...sp?). He usually does the mufflerectomy, just chops the rear muffler off and straight pipes it back from there.

The passenger side upper motor mount is probably due to be replaced. Most likely this is what youre feeling. Lower mount may be on its way out at that mileage as well. They arent too hard to replace.

Also if they havent been replaced check the LCA bushings, as those tend to go fairly quickly on these. I'd suggest getting some urethane bushings in place of OEM ones, they add some feel to the suspension and won't wear out.

As for exhausts the cheapest I know of is the ireland engineering cat back I think its $400 from WMW.

Yea that does sound great and for the money whoooaa!!

I'm pretty sure the drivetrain is sloppy. I just checked on ECStuning.com and found some aftermarket driveshaft's (FEQ brand) for $122 for each side...compared to $482 for each side OEM.

Can't wait to get some performance mods on!!

Anybody know how much whp/wtq an ECU upgrade/tune gets ya? Any recommended brands? I'm sure this is gonna come later down the road but just curious. I'm going with intake, exhaust, pulley, bushings for now...and maybe some lowering.
