don't have any info about getting a cheap mini but i will mention some things from your website.

First your intro picture, do you have hafid's permission to use the picture? He probably wouldn't mind, but it's respectful to ask.

Second, on your website, try to keep the design the same throughout the site. It looks alot cleaner

Nick -- I can appreciate your passion for cars at such a young age -- when I got my driver's license a few years back a lot of my (female) friends didn't even know who MADE their car.

On the 15K MINI, maybe you could get one if you went the project crispy MINI route!

There's a MCS on ebay right now with only 1200 miles and lots of goodies with a "buy it now" price of $9000!

Probably a scam though. . . .

Man, when I was fourteen, the only way I could get more than one car was if I built them myself from a 1/24 scale plastic kit...lol (hell, that's STILL the only way I can have more than one car)

This comment is in no way directed as a detraction of hondacivic... I'm sure he is a fine young man and appears to be a genuine car enthusiast;

But what the HELL kind of parents buy a $20,000 car for a _14_ year old who ALREADY HAS A CAR!? I mean, wow. I understand if you've got a lot of money and you want the best for your kids and all..... but I also remember how I "drove" when I first go my license (like most teenage males, FAST and reckless).

I had to scrape and save and work every **** job imagineable to afford my first car (a '93 Civic, ironically enough) and it was $5200 when I bought it (at about 4 years old, 80k miles).

I'm with you on all that. I had my license, but didn't even get my OWN car until I was 20 and even then I had to buy it myself...hooray for the $500 1987 Ford Tempo. Even if they would have bought me a car, it never would have been an expensive one when I was 16...much less BEFORE I was 16.

I think I will be he same way with my kids. They will have a job at 14 like I did and make their own money instead of being handed stuff all the time.

OK, so since you're not just "handed stuff", then tell us, how did you manage to actually purchase a $20K car. I'm not trying to pry into your personal affairs as much as I am trying to learn from your apparent industry. I'm sure that there are a lot of other young folks out there who would love to figure out how to do what you've done (heck, there's a lot of much older ones too!).

let's see at 14 I was pulling weeds at my dads shop for $1.00 per hour. My first car was a $1100 Datsun B210... I had to make payments to my father...

$15,000 would take approx. 28 years of payments to my dad...

Seriously another person on this forum recently purcahsed a burnt up MINI for $8000 and I doubt it will take $7000 to replace the damage. I believe the damage was engine only. The body looked great. It was an EBay buy I believe.

>>Well, I aint rich dawg.

You may not be "rich".... but someone in your family (either you or your parents etc.) has to have SOME kind of money to buy a 14 year old a $20,000 car.

It took me graduating (sort of) college and getting a "real" job before I could even THINK about affording a MINI. Remember it isn't just car payments... insurance is ungodly for young folks as well (I can't fathom you're even ON anyone's insurance not having a license yet.) To own a MINI (not lease) should cost the average person around $500-600 per month including insurance depending on financing terms and insurance rates.

The fact is, labor laws in most states prevent anyone under 15 or 16 from even getting a job (other than farm work in some states) AT ALL. So, in order to get the MINI, someone had to pay for it?

Hell, when I was 15/16 I made extra money doing computer work (I'm a sysadmin now)... I charged $50-$75 per hour, but even doing that once or twice a month was not NEARLY enough to cover a MINI.

Don't think I'm knocking you or anything... I would have KILLED to get a MINI at your age; just don't act like you're not getting a handout, because you most definitely are.
