Hey what's up everyone, I was wondering how the pedal spacing is in the mini, I am going to go soon to test drive one myself but I was hoping to get some opinions from other people first. Is the gas pedal close to the break? I have also noticed in some pictures that the gas pedal is long and angled? and looks like its actually connected to the floor of the car, does that make it easier to use? I drove a friends VW Passat which has the pedals too close for me, often touching the break and gas at the same time, yes I have big feet

I'm sure others can say more for sure about this, but I've never noticed any problem with the pedal spacing. Seems nice and fine and sporty to me.

I wear a 12EE wide and have no problems. I did think they were close together at first but now I love that b/c I can brake/accelerate at the same time by rolling my foot over for better shifting when coming into corners at high speeds

I wear 13D's and when I drove an MC from the dealer last night I had no trouble with the pedal spacing. I heal and toe a lot in my Miata and found it to be very easy and natural in the Mini

My only complaint is the amount of space or lack there of between the clutch and left kick panel. It’s just a minor annoyance.

Agreed, I can't seem to fit my foot between the side panel and clutch pedal without twisting it.

I have the same problem also. My solution was to buy a pair of driving shoes which are a bit narrower than all my other shoes. The pedal is connected to the floor and have driven others like it before. It is acually alot more comfortable than the others. The gas and brake are close together and is fairly easy to hit them both at the same time. But, with any other car it is something to get used to and you'll be heal and toe shifting in no time, which hafid explained in his reply. It increases the fun factor and gives the drivetrain a longer lifespan.

I'm with MINI USA. There is approx 2 1/4 inches between the gas pedal and the brake. Good luck on your test drive. We're sure you'll love it. We're here if you need us at 866 ASK MINI, please mention Reference # 200408400453 so that we can help you more efficiently.

Wow MINIDivision...

So THIS deserves a comment but you leave many of the windshield/stumble/yo-yo problems twisting in the wind?

Heh... gotta love priorities

I kind of think the brake and gas are too widely spaced for heel/toe action. I'd like them 1/2" closer together.

I have relatively small feet (mens 9 1/2), but I do have one pair of dress shoes that are difficult to drive with because they rub and snag on each other. In general though, I have no problems with the pedal spacing.

The right footwear can make all the difference!

I've got to order another pair now that I have actually worn out the rubber on the right toe

http://www.piloti.com

Anyone notice if any of the NAM sponsors sell Piloti driving shoes?

I ordered the Pro 5-3 by Monaco a couple months ago and love them. I was going to get the 5-1, but they said that the 5-1 has been on backorder for 3 months. They are the same shoe, just different colors. i must say it matches the indi blue and biege interior perfectly. I ordered mine from speedware motorsports and they were very friendly and delivered just like they told me they would be. I would recommend them if you want ones besides the 5-1. Their phone number is 425-869-5680 and ask for Adam.

Hope this helps,
Patrick

Frankly, my family and friends call me Frodo, and I am able to comfortably use the pedals. I am a sz. 15, but I don't exactly know how wide, but trust me W I D E.
