R50/53 Engine Switch?

Engine Switch?

I have a 2005 Mini cooper base, im wondering could i switch my engine with a cooper s engine?

The search bar will pull up some threads discussing this. I think the common response is it'd be cheaper/easier to just sell the r50 and get an S.

Second on buying a new/different car....
You will need to switch the motor, tranny, computer, flywheel, clutch, cv joints, computer, hood....for a start....and it will be worth less than a s when done..likely less than a stock cooper...

Even if you had a free engine there are so many other subsystems
that are unique to the S engine that you would be better off selling your base Cooper and buying a nice S. I have done many engine swaps and its is always more expensive and difficult than expected.
