Hey everybody, got a question for you all. I was driving on the highway today and I've started hearing a new groan/whine coming from the engine bay. It appears to be coming from the passenger side of the engine bay near the supercharger. Definitely a different / distinct noise from the suercharger - its lower and more constant. Seems to be happening all the time and seems irrelevant of speed or throttle.

My guess is that it has something to do with the power steering pump b/c it temporarily stops or changes tune while turning at low speeds. Any thoughts on this? I'm wondering how severe the problem is and if it could be caused by anything even more malicious.

Do you have any thoughts on this, and if my guess is right, how much does this job typically run? I'm planning on a trip to new York next weekend... Do I need to fix this ASAP?

Based on the sound coming and going while turning it could be the pump. Check and see if there are any leaks coming from your steering pump.

 

sorry to be a total idiot here, but where exactly is the PS pump? Is it near / beneath the supercharger? I've tried poking around in there but all the fluid levels on everything seem OK (can't quite tell what the min/max level is on the tank to the right of the coolant). I just don't know what I'm looking for.

If looking at the engine from the front of the car it's about 3 feet back and middle left on the underside of the engine
