Clutch issues?

Did a search and read all 5 pages that came up with "clutch" and did not find any post that sounded like mine.

I have an 04 R50 with about 70K miles. Lately the clutch feels stiffer than usual and there is a sound like a cable rubbing. I know there is no cable, but that is what it sounds like. Also, it seems that the engage point is closer to the floor than it used to be. Starting in first, I seem to almost drop the clutch it is now so far toward the floor. Once moving, everything seems fine enough.

Any suggestions? I have checked the brake fluid and it is full.

If it could be the clutch master/slave cylinder, are they easy to replace? I am not a mechanic, but am a bit handy.

Lots reading' but no suggestions. :(

Now it has gotten worse. Now if I start the car and then try to put it in reverse it grinds. If I put it in reverse and then start the car' it slips right in. After backing up putting it in first is very hard. The rest of the gears seem ok. It is jst reverse and first that I am having issues with.

Any suggestions? I am pretty much at a loss.
