Weak Airflow? AC & Heat

Hey All,

I've had my 02 R53 for just over a year... in large part its been a good car. I noticed when I first got the car that the interior airflow seemed pretty weak, my notch 4 on the vents seems like my mom's VW New Beetle's notch 2.

I was trying to figure out if MINIs were known to have this issue or if its something with my MINI in particular. I've ordered a new cabin air filter, but it isn't going to get here until next weekend. Don't ask me why I'm just now getting around to addressing this. I asked my friend who has an 04 R50 and she said that she's experienced similar issues, however, knowing her she probably hasn't ever changed her CAF either.

Have other people experienced this?

Thanks!

Yup...
Just yank the old cabin filter out...see if you get more airlow...
Try it on both fresh and rescurlate....if you have markedly better on one than the other, it might point towards an issue. Also try on different mix/blend vent settings...
You might be getting more air than you think...just comming out different vents...

I have the same issue, but when i got the car, the blower and heater were working perfectly, just like on my r50. anyway, since i had no time to dismantle the cockpit to check it, and my engine blew in the meantime after a regular service/check, the guy said that the flap got stuck somehow. I noticed that it never blows cold air even with the a/c on.. it would blow mild warm on the coolest setting. Have you had problems with engine cooling? i had a blown radiator hose which lead to engine overheating and eventually bending the head. btw, sorry for my bad english. anyway, you should dismantle your cockpit in order to get that flap sorted, or if you can take out your radio and the below things, you could quite easily sort it out then. hope this helps
