R50/53 Chatter noise under acceleration, idle to 3K rpm?

Cv axles will pop and crackle when turning when they are bad. But it really sounds like you should take off in first and then shift to second and then to third. My mini never saw third til i was 40 mph
It's seeming to be the most sensible diagnosis and certainly the cheapest! Thanks for the post!
