I got my production number today. Is there a site that I can check on the status of my car?..thanks for any info..mark

 

go to http://www.miniusa.com and go to the owners' lounge, top right. you'll have to sign in, giving the name of your first born, (no, not that bad) then you can check on the status from there. it took about 3 days for anything to show up after the dealer placed my order.

this waiting sux...

mine is still "on order," does anyone else know about how long each step will take?

You guys might want to look into the "can't wait for..." clubs they have running on here some of the time. They were huge when I first got on here, aren't as big anymore, but everybody in there is going through the same stuff you guys are.

I was dreading the waiting when I decided to order my MINI, but wound up buying it on eBay - waited about 3 days!

It takes a few days for the production number to match your car. When I first got one it said the number was for a silver MINI, but a few days later it changed to a British Racing Green MINI Cooper S, which is my order. You can also call 1-866-ASKMINI and they can give you more detailed information.

 

The Owner's Lounge will lag a few days to a week behind your order. My production number didn't match my order at first either, but a quick e-mail to my MA and within the next day or two, everything matched. Once your car goes into production, you will see your VIN# and once it is finished you can track to shipping process through the shipping company (using your VIN#). I can't remember the website, but if you do a search here you can find the address. It's really quite cool to track your car being loaded onto a ship and making the long (9 to 12 days if you're an East Coast order) trek across the Atlantic.

Hang in there. Read lots of posts here on how people cope with waiting, doing your own mods, what to look for on the day of pick up, etc. The time will pass.
Mine took 2 months from order to pick up from Cincinnati MINI and at times the waiting was excruciating. I know some folks waited much longer, but 2 months was enough for me.
