R50/53 30 bucks to fill a MINI!
I just finished a three day, 1150 mile, "motoring experience" from Reno, NV to 29 Palms, CA and return. The gas prices are not only high but do not seem reasonable from one place to another.
3/4 Reno, NV 2.199
3/5 Bishop, CA 2.359
3/6 29 Palms, CA 2.319
3/7 Tonapah, NV 2.099
I can not understand why Tonapah would have the cheapest gas and Bishop the most expensive. BTW That gas in Bishop was from an Indian Reservation and was the cheapest in town. I did not buy any, but gas in Baker, CA was 2.839 to 2.959 (depending on station) for the 91 Octane that I always use.

I'm in Los Angeles and just filed my MCS for the first time since buying her and it cost me $29 and change. That was an almost empty tank. Computer said I averaged 24.5 mpg. Not too good so I'm hoping it'll improve as I the car breaks in - still has less that 300 miles on her!

$1.79 for premium here in St. Louis. If you go to Costco it's about 10 cents cheaper. They say the reformulated gas in the cities is more expensive but if you go 20 or 30 miles out of the city it's the same or higher

I gas up in Oakland, Portola Valley, Palo Alto, Mt. View and San Jose... it's from 2.59-2.79 for Premium. I use about a tank a week, but you know what - when the prices fluctuate even a whopping fifty cents a gallon, the difference is about six bucks - the cost of a drink with dinner, and as far as I'm concerned that's nuttin' when it comes to driving for a week. Saving ten cents a gallon - hm, a whole $1.30 savings. There are other things my friends to be miserly about in my humble opinion.

>>It's Bush's fault right, everything is?
I agree with that part of your post, but as for:
>>He wants high gas prices so everyone will vote for him in November.......duh.
That must be some sort of Republican reverse-psychology, I haven't figured it out yet
That was funny, about the panties -

I filled up my 2 MINIs yesterday.....$1.87 per gallon, Exxon 93 octane here in Miami, FL.
It seems to me that SUVs will soon be extinct in the People's Republic of California at the current pace of gas price increases.

Gotta watch this Bush character. I think he has also invaded the United Kingdom. This afternoon I returned a rental at Gatwick Airport Results:
6.8 Liters of unleaded: 5.43 POUNDS.
Doing math: 6.8 Liters into ~4 liters/gallon: 1.7 gallons
5.43 Pds X 1.83 (WSJ Eschange rate)= 9.88 Dollars
9.88 Dollars into 1.7 Gallons = 5.81 DOLLARS A GALLON
So suck it up boys and girls, you're getting a hell of a deal.
Re regular gas, my Mini runs like a banshee on regular. Too cheap to use premium. You need premium if your car a) Pings, b) you have messed with the timing c) You never open it up to clean out the intake system (intake valves collect deposits which can hurt fuel economy and premium fuel has MORE additive to fight this) ALL gas has additive by law (a minimum amount is required by those evil Bush minions at the EPA so we all clean the air a little bit)
Lastly, prices at the pump very wildly because a) not all states tax at the same rate, b) the price of OIL fluctuates wildly and is currently pretty high (35/barrel for April futures). Relax, futures (now for December 05 are $29.
(MINI alert!- Avis UK rents MINIs! Watch it though, they have accents so you won't understand half of what they are saying
