R50/53 Rear Wiper motor making noise
Ok.. so I have my first problem
when i run the rear wiper, i get a high pitch grinding sound. This seems to have started when we had 2-3 days of (0-10 degree) weather. I blew it off and figured the problem would "thaw" out.
this is not the case, its still doing it.
I'm going to take apart the back this weekend to look at the motor, but wanted to see if anyone else was having this problem?
Thanks

I had this problem, it was intermittent and generally went away after the first dozen wiper swipes. It happened year around and not just in the cold. Nevertheless, I mentioned it to my service folks at the 20K service and they replaced the motor. Haven't had the problem since.
My assumption, btw, was that I'd somehow loosened the motor from its mounting by repeated hard slamming of the boot hatch. This was something that I used to have to do before my boot latch was replaced (that at about 15K). And in general, the hatch seemed sort of flimsy...the latch certainly was.
