Detroit Tuned Bypass Valve

Does anyone know if it's worth it to put the Detroit Tuned Bypass Valve in the '06 MCS?

http://www.detroittuned.com/shop/?productID=179

Your help as always is greatly appreciated.

Thanks,

Are you having problems with your BPV? MANY people recommend the Detroit Tuned BPV.

Some people like the feel, some don't....it closes a bit more abruptly, making it harder to acclerate smoothly (when the transition occurs from normally asperated to on boost ((very low rpm to middle/low rpms))), but allows full boost to come on slightly quicker by doing so...if both valves (oem vs dt) are functioning properly, you will not gain extra boost....
So it comes down to your driving style in large part...
One other thing...pre 2005 cars had bypass springs that were pretty weak...in 2005, oem bypass valves were made a little bit stiffer.....the dt tuned one even stiffer. Read the dr website closely...it also lists a slight loss of mpg...so again it depends on your needs/wants.

The DT valve was a worthwhile mod on my '03. I did notice a 1PSI increase after the swap as well. I think my factory BPV was shot because it would flutter under part boost. With the DT BPV I get a nice smooth transition into the boost and much better throttle response. Granted the tune also helped with that as well.

In my opinion the early MCS 03-04 benefit the most from the DTBV, it helped cure the "yo-yo" effect many experienced but like one of the above posters said 05 and later had improved springs and I dont know if they experience the same improvement as the 03-04.

I have not really felt much difference with mine but it could just be me. I don't have a boost gauge so I cannot speak to the PSI gain? I do however love my Detroit Tuned beer glass they sent with my valve.
