04' MCS Steering Wheel Question

Ok. I finally am getting around to updating my steering wheel from the 2-spoke to a 3-spoke. I still have to source an airbag for the new wheel. I am planning on selling the old one. Both wheels are the multi-function wheels

My question is this......how do I store the old airbag until I sell it? I would really hate to have it 'go off' before I can sell it.

Thanks in advance for the help!!

Also, is it possible to just repalce the cover and re-use the old airbag?

It should be fine kept at room temperature. I'm sure that you'll just have it up in a box somewhere, so you shouldn't have to worry too much.

As for your question about using the old bag, unfortunately, it is not possible, you have to purchase the appropriate airbag for the appropriate wheel; The airbag and cover are a singular unit.

Store airbags facing up, it won't go off, but it should be set so that it will inflate up and not launch the bag into the air. Also, I am fairly certain that you cannot mail or ship airbags through any domestic shipping company or the postal service.

Awesome! Thank you for the help! I have it on my workbench facing up (connectors on bottom). I was hoping I could just change the cover, but now I know!

Thank you again Chase and Nabeshin!

Heh.. Whoops... I guess technically you aren't supposed to, but I've shipped an airbag via the postal service, and I've also received one from somebody who I believe shipped it the same way. They were packed well at least!
