where to buy hatch struts?

I have recently had the struts on my trunk/boot hatch fail. Does anyone know a reputable source for new ones? I live far enough away from a dealership that I don't want to take the trip to get new ones, but they seem to be difficult to find on the internet. Any help is appreciated!

We sell all the MINI OEM parts, but also have our own MINI junk yard that we could sell you a used set.
Just send us an email with your address and what you want and we'll get you pricing with shipping.

Hatch struts are non MINI specific. Do not buy used struts- any autozone or pep boys should have them in stock.

Not here they aren't! O'reilly and autozone both had to order them for me, and wanted something like $40/each for them.

While the parts store struts might look and fit, they aren't necesarilly the same. Several months ago, I bought a pair of Sachs struts for a Grand Cherokee I was selling. I got these from Rock Auto, and the price was exceptionally cheap - $12.00 each. They were so overpowered, the lid would fly up with extreme force, and when you tried to close it, it stressed the built in handle on the inside panel. It did the job, and was better than having it come down on my head on a cold day. But this is one part where I think OEM is better. Now as far as used is concerned, why not? I bought my car used, and guess what? It has all used parts! There are a lot of parts where used is a bad idea, but for something that takes 10 minutes tops to change, I'll take my chances.
