R50/53 Trying to correct fuel consumption display on 2003 R53

Trying to correct fuel consumption display on 2003 R53

Hello,

I asked this question on the mini2 forums, but it doesn't seem like anyone there knows the answer.

I have a 2003 Mini Cooper S and I'd like to correct the fuel consumption on the on board computer. The last 3 tankfuls it's averaged 111% of the true fuel consumption.

I found the directions on how to do this at:

However, the menus available in my on board computer don't match what the FAQ says. It says that they're:

1,2,3,4,5,6,7,8,9,10,11,12,13,14,15.0 - 18.0 (No funktion),19,20,21

I'm seeing:

0,1,2,3,4,5,6,7,8,9,10,11,13,14,15,18,19, and 21

I don't have the 20 test, which is supposed to be the correction for the fuel consumption. From the instructions that I found for resetting the oil change alert, it appears that there are a few different menus for these cars. Does anyone know what the menu for resetting my 2003 Mini Cooper S would be. It's a really early 2003, manufactured in 2002.

Did you ever find the solution to this? I'm looking to do the same thing, and my car does not display 20 either.

I think it's menu 19 that unlocks the others.

Look in the sticky here for Ultimate guide

If that still doesn't make sense, I'll come up with a more detailed response later, let me know

That makes sense, and that's what I've been doing. Go into test mode. Click till I reach 19. Click when "off" flashes. Click through to 20. Only problem is 20 is missing. It goes up to 19, then the next click is 21. Then it loops back around. Was this option not available on 2003 cars?

I've got the same issue. Has anyone ever figured this out?
