R50/53 06 MC selling price question
I never even considered getting a justa and I don't regret it one bit.
In the pictures you posted above that is definitely fluid from the engine mount, but that mount looks to have been replaced. I can't tell for certain from the angles you chose but it looks a lot better than the one I just pulled off my car that was not yet leaking.
Also the oil underneath is likely the oil pan gasket.

One other thing, if a sunroof is not a selling point then skip it. I have one and I hate it, but it wasn't enough of a deal breaker since I found a low mileage car in good shape. I had to put foam tape on the flaps to stop the rattling, and it gets really hot inside in the summer. If you are not careful, the drains can get clogged and it's a ***** to fix if they do, and if the sliding rack is not lubed healthily it can get jammed and mess things up.
Love that 911.
Seeing the Thing in your signature is making really wish I had my slow-as-molasses 73 Super still. That car was a blast to drive and the Arizona summer heat didn't phase me a bit with it. Wished it was a pre-67 but it was still cool.
Here's a few pictures of it:

I replaced the front T-bars with an actual bumper after I bought it.
Guess I have something to save up for.
Also, I tend to agree with nodoze about the fluid on the frame rail and pan. In either case I wouldn't worry because you do have that service agreement thing on that particular car.
But if that one doesn't feel right to you, it doesn't look like you will be short a car in the mean time so you can always pass on it and wait for "THE One".

That is a nice Super.
Yeah, sunroof is not a necessity and being in the South it will get pretty toasty. Now that I am thinking about it, I may go with the solid roof, one less thing to screw up.
My old VW's
75 Beetle "Oscer" my wife picked up for me back in 93 for $100, no motor, seats, sshrub growing inside. Picked up a used motor for $150.
Welded in floors, rebuilt brakes, interior etc for about $1,500.
Paint/body work $900
40 mm IDF Webers $150
Upped the size of the motor to 1776cc $700
70,000 miles later had the lower main bearing in motor replaced and the heads rebuilt--worn valve guides $600
at 120,000 rust came back driving in the snow and the motor spun a bearing so I sold it back in 05. It is now in WV ans is on the road.
The Thing had 160,000 miles, put about $1,000 in it over 14 years and got my money back plus more when I sold it with 260,000 miles back in 2001.
It was nice when oil changed were only five bucks ! (2 1/2 quarts)
Sorry about going off topic.

Ok, this one just popped up at Mini in Alexandia VA
06S for $13K
http://www.autotrader.com/fyc/vdp.js...standard=false
That dealer has much better prices than the Raleigh market and this would make a good bargaining point for the 06 MCS that I am interested in if she does not budge on the price when I speak to her tomorrow.

That might help you get her down. Keep us informed.
Now I found this listed in my area.
Black E30 series M3

Very tempting but I must stay the course

I took a look at the paperwork again last night and noticed that the extended maint. service contrat is good fro 72 months from the build date
so I have just until April 2012 till it expires
Good thing it just had the last service performed a few months ago and the owner was timely with the brake fluid and coolant changes.
Also, the recent repair bill she paid was for the water pump and front wheel bearing was $1,800 !!
$400 was parts...
Glad I have a second car to use just in case I need to perform any unplanned service.

I don't see why you couldn't hit the limiter every so often. They're meant to be driven. I've never hit my limiter but i have gotten close.
This was after she paid them $45 bucks to install an armrest glove box cover (3 seconds)

I went to an Indy for the TB & Waterpump $750, replaced the radiator fan myself $85, strut mount bushings were fine, replaced the EGR Cooling Hose $20 and called it a day.
With the Porsche, my brother used own hi own air-cooled repair shop a while back so for a few beers he gives me a hand when needed.
I was looking through the serice records and the prior owner had the flywheel replaced twice under warranty
Fist time around 45,000 miles and again around 55,000 with a rebuilt gear box with a new clutch after hearing rattling noises and difficulty changing gears and the clutch slave at 55,000.
Hopefully it was just a fluke.
Only project I have coming up is the front contorl arm bushings, there is a little play when I kick the tires.
I'll make it my spring time project

The White 06 listed at the dealer is still for sale, they even dropped the asking proce a little bit.
I also looked back on all the other MINI's I inquired about and all of them are still for sale but one.

Just decided to post an update.
I have put 11,000 miles on it since January no has 85,000 miles.
Oil change was a piece of cake.
Only issues:
Replaced upper motor mount
Airbag light on (seat pad sensor was replaced twice under warranty by PO)
Having too much fun driving it:D
