I think my 2002 MINI Cooper 5-speed logo should be a collector's
item any day now. Just look at the history embedded in this thing. It's beautiful.

I was going to get flames on the side of my MINI, but I
decided just to get the "smoke-look" sides instead.

I want to see some empirical data on the salinity of your MINI.

I love the "extra racing stripes" down the doors that the washer fluid provides. After the trip home from the dealer in December mine had beautiful blackish-green stripes down both sides.

Mine's been almost that dirty. I just couldn't bring myself to take pictures...

I recently joked with co-workers that I had just come back from a rally in a salt mine.

I was driving behind a chocolate-shake truck that opened up.

What's up with marking out the plate so we can't see it? I guessif you are speeding around the highways you don't have to worry about cops or other drivers writing down your plate number.

I had a good laugh the other day -- somewhere on this board there's a post by a guy from California, talking about how he'd never driven in snow before. He evidently took the MINI up in to the mountains somewhere and got into some snow and it sounded like some salt. Anyway, he went on to talk about this weird white stuff on the car and how it took him 2 or 3 hours when he got home to get the wheel arches to be black again.

Being from Salty St. Louis, I was rolling thinking about how some folks have a very limited perspective when it comes to weather. What really made me laugh was thinking about me spending 2 or 3 hours every day cleaning the car for about 3 months straight in the winter. Not gonna happen!

BTW, my car looks like Trippy's and it has for about 6 weeks. They've gotten very aggressive in the last year or so with brine spray on the highways and bridges as a pre-emptive strike against the ice. It warmed up a bit 2 weeks ago so I made it out to the car wash. What I forgot to realize was that since it had warmed up, all the salty gunk had melted all over the road. So, when I pulled out of the car wash the MINI looked great but no more than 30 seconds after I pulled out on the road it was coated once again.
