Exhaust/Muffler attachment/support

I've got a new-to-met 05 MCS and I've got a question about the exhaust. I was driving it last week with my wife following and she commented that the exhaust seems to bounce around a lot. I took a look at it and it seems reasonably secure, but there is an inch or two of "play" if I push up and down on it a little. It takes some force to move it, but I can see how it would "bounce around" while driving. There doesn't appear to be anything supporting the very back of the exhaust (from the last "curve" to the end of the tailpipe). Is that normal? I looked above the point just before the chrome pipes start, and there is a metal piece that holds the pipes together and that has two holes in it, but it isn't attached to anything on the car itself. Is this normal?

Mine was bouncing around a good bit. I thought I heard a rattle from the back. The hangar strap on the resonator (passenger-side muffler) was broken. Shop removed resonator (one ball mod). It still made noise and moved enough to contact the rear valence. It turns out a hangar bushing was torn. I couldn't tell by looking at it, but the shop replaced it and my exhaust is solid with no movement.
